Women & Comix

In the Cairocomix festival that we read about in Step 2, many of the winners that were awarded prizes were women. Women from across the Arab World won prizes for the Best Graphic Novel award, for the Best Comics Magazine and for Best Work in Progress. The Best Digital Comic was awarded to Dina Mohamed for her digital comic Qahera which features a female superhero of the name Qahera who fights injustice, especially that targeting women in Cairo. On the website, you will find a few Arabic editions, in addition to some English ones. Feel free to browse them!
